Plannja was established in 1967 as a separate division of Norrbottens Järnverk in Luleå, which later became SSAB. In 1977, the company Plannja AB was formed. In recent decades, Plannja has acquired several building-products companies in Europe and thereby secured a position as one of Europe’s leading brands in upgraded thin-sheet products for the building market.
